BuddyWatch, Inc was established out of frustration in 2017, when the reports indicated that the number of homeless Veterans was increasing. Homeless Veterans still sleep in the woods, basements, under bridges, on a friend’s sofa and in shelters. They deserve better and it is up to us to see that they get better.
Monthly rent will depend on their income. They will be expected to put in “sweat equity” to help maintain the compound. More importantly, to take care of their buddy to their left and to their right.
Homelessness is one aspect of the problem but these individuals also experience other issues such as loneliness; a loss of purpose; a life direction; and comradery. NO ONE can understand this void except another Veteran. Being welcomed and included in BuddyWatch, Inc will create a sense of belonging and purpose.
